Rent a Ducati Multistrada 1200 and ride down the Amalfi coast!!!
And then get a flat tire!
And then plug it!
And then ride more!
And then over the mountains!
And somehow avoid getting a speeding ticket, run over by a bus, or driving off a cliff!

Is that really what the Romans do? I was under the impression that they got drunk on wine and had orgies.

I loved the Amalfi coast! I would go back there in a heartbeat.
Wish I had the confidence/ability/death wish to rent a motorcycle while there. The Smart for four I had felt like a giant tank on some of those roads. Idk how those tour bus drivers sleep at night.
Favorite part by far of my Italy trip though for sure! Three days there felt like it was too short by like a few months lol.

Definitely! I took a picture of a typical two way street in that area. Although many of these would have a car parked on the side and a tour bus coming the other way as well.

do they have hypermotards?
This reminds me that BMW on demand (among others) has motorcycle rentals in Germany. Must resist temptation, I’d be too self conscious not wanting to make mistakes in front of zhe Ghermans

oh yeah definitely, the drivers there are fearless. I have plenty of gopro footage, it was wild.

i really wanted to take their Hyperstrada (hypermotard with bags & a windscreen), but it was already reserved. I rented through these guys and they were great

yeah the bus drivers are insane, I saw several buses three-wheeling it though some of the turns.
I would have felt less comfortable in any car bigger than a Smart. I was able to easily widen my line or stay to the outside if someone came around a blind turn a bit in my lane. In a car there’s much less wiggle room

I guess something like a hypermotard might be prone to being abused. I like the ergonomics of it.
Fun site, I think I would choose this:

Or maybe the Monster.

Yeah its a pretty fantastic bike. I never really opened it up or pushed it hard since I had the girlfriend on the back, but it was super comfy and pulled like a freight train. My only real complaint was that the rear cylinder was cooking my thighs so bad in traffic coronal sanders would be proud.
